Rent a Philosopher was founded in 2012 by Ida Hallgren, philosophical practitioner, PhD-student in Philosophy at the University of Gothenburg, and lic. clinical psychologist in Sweden.

Ida Hallgren is a public speaker giving talks on topics such as meaning making and existential groups conversations, existential perspectives in health care, the self-help culture, negative thinking skills and the cult of positive thinking, compassion and care ethics.

Ida also offers individual philosophical consultations regarding topics such as moral dilemmas, existential issues, matters of priorities in life and difficult decisions, as well as guidance regarding goals and values for organisations.
